Great sunrise/sunset views. Icy and muddy today. About time for micro spikes, the leaves make it slippery and the rain and ice make it a soaked boots paradise. Bumps pond loop was serene and worth the trip.

There’s 2 parking spots. Get there early as they fill up fast. The DEC was there today monitoring the parking. There’s signs saying “no parking along the road strictly enforced by DEC” If you park in the first parking lot is approximately 1.5 miles to the next parking area which is the trail head. From the start of the trail to the summit is a gradual incline, steep in some areas. The color trail markers to follow are yellow, blue, yellow. As you’re making the loop, you will come to a split in the trail (both marked with blue markers) one of the trails leads to the summit. There’s signs on a tree saying which direction the summit is. I’d say 3/4 of the trail is rock bed and large tree roots. (Bring poles if you have them) There was a lot of people on the trail, some with dogs & children. It was 73 sunny 9/26/20 no bugs. I would advice getting there early for parking and to climb the summit overlooking LG.

Too cloudy for a gorgeous sunrise but it was still a nice way to start the day! The upper parking lot was open so we got there earlier than expected. We were told to watch out for a rattlesnake by the pond.

It was a beautiful day and the trails were as good as they could be. There were a lot more rocks than expected making it slower but manageable for my 5 year old. View was great and bugs were minimal with the chillier weather. I also didn't trust my car to make it to the trail head since the road was pretty lumpy at the start so we had to add about 3 miles to our entire hike.

Get there early. There were dozens of cars waiting in line to get to the parking lot as we were leaving.
