Cranford Rose Garden makes a great date destination when the roses are in full bloom.

Of course there is plenty of walking experiences here in the different gardens. Area dedicated to kids as well. They are undergoing renovations in some parts (2017-2018) but only one area at a time, and so much else to see.
This is a regular spot for my wife and I to do a quick walk through or a leisurely stroll with friends and their kids.
There are birding guided tours which are fun too!

Very beautiful botanical garden located in the heart of Brooklyn. Nice escape from the busy city and buildings. Beautiful flowers, gardens, lakes, and waterfall. We were there in the Spring and the Cherry trees were in bloom and they were beautiful
