HikingOff trail

I went hiking here yesterday with a friend and we ended up not doing the hike. The map listed on this page is incorrect and we ended up following it to the top of Berlin mountain well off anything that resembles a trail. We're planning on going back there in a week or two to do the real trail. If you plan on doing the hike the trail head is on your left when driving in, don't make the same mistake we did.

My son and i hiked this yesterday. We ended up starting and ending on this trail, but took a detour to the summit of Berlin Mtn. Nice sunny day, about 3 inches of fresh snow.

Hiking

We hiked this trail with 4 adults, 2 kids and 2 dogs. The beginning of the trail was steep and lasted over a mile. Half the group is new to hiking and had to take a few breaks. The trail was mostly shale, covered in leaves making it extremely slipper. We had a few falls. We GPS the loop to be 3.01 miles. Overall this was a pretty easy hike, there was no view once you do get to the top. We did have a hard time finding the trail head. It is marked with red trail markers and a sign for handicap access with an ATV.

Enjoyed this loop with a few senior friends and had a great time. Some areas are a bit steeper than others and some are washed out a bit but nothing too bad.
