Beebe Hill rises only 300 feet above the surrounding area. If you climb its fire tower though, you will be rewarded with great views. Begin by walking SW along the gravel road at the end of the pond. You can walk all the way to the top of the hill on this road. Instead though, take the foot trail that begins shortly on the right and which is a much more enjoyable walk. The trail, marked with red discs, passes through a mostly hard wood forest and climbs gradually to the top of the hill. After the sign-in register, you will cross a small creek on a foot bridge. You pass the "Chance of Thunder Lean-Too" and then a small pond (Opal Pond). Soon you are at the top of the hill. If you are not afraid of heights, climb the fire tower and enjoy the magnificent views. The Catskill mountains are clearly visible to the south. Return by the same trail.

Simple walk on the trails- nothing extravagant. Walking through woods until you reach the fire tower. No view unless you climb the tower. Perfect for a day where you just want to stroll and get some exercise in. We parked at the lot right next to the pond

This was a good walk - nice for the first hike of the season, got a little taste of it again without being tired out. It's an easy but nice little hike. The fire tower is currently closed due to covid but folks have gone up anyway. Nice view from the tower, and a nice open area for relaxing before heading back down.

We took the foot trail with 2 adults and 5 kiddos ( 3 toddlers). We liked that it inclined gradually and was fairly easy to hike with kids. The lean to was a cool pit stop for the kiddos. The fire tower is taped off due to Covid , so that was a bummer but we’ll be back.

Hike was nice. Great view on fire tower. Horse trail “caballero” trail was not found on AllTrails map. It leads back to the parking lot though!

Trail was really mellow and easy to follow (red trail markers). The parking lot is right near the trail head, and the hike to the fire tower was a little over a mile - very doable for almost anyone! Elevation gain was minimal, so the view from the fire tower was appreciated. At the final fork, you’ll take a right for the fire tower, but the left trail will lead you to the lean-to with a fire pit. This is a really accessible way to get started if you have a desire to try backpacking - if you overpack, you won’t be walking far and the extra weight won’t be a bother.

I would recommend for anyone looking for a quick easy hike but with a super rewarding view! The tower is a bit daunting if you’re afraid of heights but SO worth it for the 365 views!

This was a really nice trail on a beautiful fall day. Well maintained. We did it as a family with a dog and a 4 year old and everyone negotiated it fine! Views from the top of the fire tower are great, and the views along the way of the ferns and changing leaves were beautiful.

Came up the back way with some weight on just to get tome muscles going again after a long hiatus. Nice, consistent, semi steep walk.

Great hidden away gem. A little steep but nothing to worry about a little buggy and a little overgrown a beautiful little hike to a great fire tower but you have to climb the tower to see the wonderful views. The post four the trail head still stands with the sign is missing so be careful you don’t drive by too fast and miss it.

Nice trail through the woods to the fire tower. Great for dogs. But by what definition is the red trail “Easy”. Okay, it’s not hard but definitely strenuously uphill. Not for folks looking for a leisurely stroll.

this was a great little hike.some people find these short trail boring. i don't know why. the woods was pleasant with its floors covered with ferns. some nice moss covered rocks. we spent some time at the lean-to chatting and had some good laughs. a cool ranger house and fire tower gave you some great views. what was best about this trail is my best friend from SC was up. the trail is perfect to hold a conversation allowing us to catch up. you could even feel the peace here. we also got a kick out of the small old time cemetery. but watch out if you walk around the pond. he almost step on a snapper. i laugh so hard because he needed some new shorts. LOL. i thank this little trail for another great memory for us to talk about when we are in our rocking chairs.

Hiked this today with my 15yo daughter and boyfriend and it wasn’t a bad hike at all. The beginning of the trail is difficult to find as it’s not marked. We walked around 3 different ways before finding the actual trail. Bugs weren’t terrible and the steepness was light. Just needs to be marked better off the road and the trail needs to be clearly marked in the parking lot area.

This was a nice easy hike to the firetower. There were people out and about on the trail due to the holiday weekend. The views from the firetower you can see the northern Catskills and Stisson Mountain.

Did this hike to celebrate Mother’s Day, it turned out to be a great decision. Hiked with my husband and my one year old daughter in a Kelty Kids hiking back pack. My daughter is about 20 lbs and my husband had no problem carrying her. This was our daughter’s first hike, our first family hike and first time using the hiking bag with her. Worked out great!!! Trail was dry, minimal bugs (we didn’t need bug spray) and it was a about 60 degrees. It was a touch windy in the fire tower at the top but that is to be expected. This was a great experience for the family. We will continue to hike the trail with her as she gets older and she can hike it for herself as it’s a easy trail with great views from the top of the fire tower. Also this trail wasn’t busy at all, we didn’t see any other hikers, we had the whole place to ourselves!!! It was lovely!!! Note: the sign is missing from the road. The trail register has been moved too.

Trail head sign still missing. Bugs are out in force! Check out the old cemetery to the left of the parking area but pleas be respectful. People camping overnight near the trail head, the trail was in good condition. Check out the lean to and out house on the way up. Great views from the Fire Tower!
