Beautiful location to spend the day. Lots of signs and lookouts to view the lake and bog. Tons of old- growth beautiful trees. We met my older parents here for a socially distant walk. It was level enough for them to manage without any difficulty. I’d recommend this for all ages. Note that dogs are not allowed, so leave your furry friends home. Definitely going to come back in the spring to rent a canoe!

Very wonderful trail. My husband & I took our 3 young daughters and they had no problems walking 3.5 miles of trail. Tons of exploring and wonderful things to see if you take your time and enjoy.

Paddle sportsGreat!

Different trail options available. All are easy and kid friendly. Many areas to sit if you need a break. We rented kayaks and spend some time on the water before hiking. Call ahead for kayak reservations. Visitor center is closed due to COVID, bathrooms are open. The staff that was around helping us with Kayaks were very nice. Some bugs but not to bad. We hiked during a extremely hot day but the trails through the forest kept us comfortable.

This center requires a $5.00 fee. The walk was beautiful. I saw two fawns, a snake(couldn’t identify which type because it moved so rapidly under brush), plenty of fish and frogs/toads. Squirrels and chipmunks accompanied me through almost the entirety of the hike. This hike would have been five stars had it not been for the extraordinary amount of flies that made it truly unenjoyable. I have never been bothered by them flying around me but this hike was not great. The flies would consistently fly into my face and behind my glasses which for anyone whom wears glasses, is a very uncomfortable feeling. I had them fly full throttle right into my face or ears every five feet which made this hike quite annoying. I will probably return in the fall when it’s a bit brisker to try and enjoy this without the flies.

Our favorite spot for hiking! Assortment of well groomed trails, informative signage, lovely lake, not heavily trafficked. Well worth the $5 per vehicle.

No dogs allowed and a $5 fee, but this is a good replacement for the extremely crowded Green Lakes loop. Flat and well maintained.

Nice flat easy walking trail. Canoe or kayak on pond with rental. Can also rent snow shoes in winter. Great for any season. Great spot for families.
