Good but muddy trail on an unseasonably warm January day. Difficult rock scrambles on the way up. Views to NYC at the peak. The way down is more of a set of stairs and was heavily trafficked with people and dogs.

Highly populated on the first half of the hike going clockwise. But the views at the top are lovely. Also, prepare to pay for parking by the inn.

Listened to the reviews of others and did this counterclockwise. First half of the hike was awesome- challenging rock scrambles and awesome views. Bummer how crowded the trail was on the way down. Too many people to enjoy, even in December. The stairs made it feel like less of a hike and more of a tourist attraction. Would have went back down but the scramble may have been too challenging for us and the pup. Great hike but not if you’re looking to get away for some peace and solitude.

Fun hike today. Snow lasted the first bit of the hike, mostly melted by the time we came back down. Rocks/steps were a little slick and muddy. Perfectly kept trail, beautiful views.

Great hike, part of the trail is closed for restoration. Not icy at all, rain kept the crowds away

Fun hike in solitude on an overcast weekday. It’s been warm lately so the ice has pretty much all melted, but the trail is slightly muddy and rocks are slippery.
