If you start by taking a right from parking lot to porta potties, it’s easy for the first half and a little harder on the way home. Great hike!

HikingGreat!

The beginning of this trail is deceiving as the first mile is touristy and easy (where the water fall is). Once you get beyond that point there is wonderful terrain of climbing up, down, over rocks with wonderful views and very few people. Loved the whole thing.

HikingGreat!

Fabulous hike on a bluebird day. A bit icy, with packed snow, at the beginning, on the Awosting Falls trail, but once you hit the AF connector it was smooth sailing. Stunning views and watery moments, and lots of sunny outcrops if you want to stop for lunch.

Snow earlier in the day made the trail pretty sloppy but to be expected. Beautiful trail and easy to follow

Trail markers change a bunch. But overall a nice hike. Would consider more on the easy side. Falls and views are beautiful

Everything north of the road is great. South of the road is the main path to the waterfall and not interesting. Nice waterfall.

This park is an absolute zoo. Avoid until the leaves fall. Main lot full by 10am, parked in Peter’s Kill lot and started hike there counterclockwise. Nice enough hike but way too crowded to fully enjoy and last 1/3 of this hike has road noise or is next to the road = bummer. Waterfall was nice but moved along quickly to avoid the crowds. Also, it’s only ~5 miles according to my tracker...disappointed. Would not repeat.

We arrived Sunday morning and found no place in the main parking lot. We were lucky to find one place in the Peter's Kill parking lot. We decided to start the trail from there going anticlockwise. This was a good decision and we enjoyed majestic vistas from the ledges along the trail. We saw the Awosting falls at the end. It was a good place to rest but it was relatively crowded. On the way back we decided to take the highway as a shortcut. Another wise decision, because along the way on the left we saw two waterfalls, Sheldon and Peter's Kill. There isn't any trail, we just followed the water downhill. Amazing views and worth the detour.
