This is a great beginner trail run. Clean. Beautiful. Hilly but not very steep.

I live by the Avalon and it my go to trail when I want to hike on a whim. It’s got a lot to see at the opening of trail at the duck pond. Once you cross the street you get more trails. My dog loves it here and it’s very peaceful once deep in the trails.

Nice easy hike. Some light hills. Good for an afternoon walk/hike after work.

Love this trail for the changes in elevation- it’s great for getting the heart rate up even for slow walkers !

Saw bunch of dears twice :) trail near the pond is heavily trafficked but very well maintained. The nature trails were a bit confusing.

Very busy by the pond , but the further you venture the better it is . Trails wide , hills but not steep and you can pick the trail to match your time .

It's a fun place to hike and bring your dog but the only bad thing is. There's a lot of bugs so bring your bug spray.

Beautiful park. There's a duck pond with a paved path off of it and the nature preserve area

I frequent Avalon all the time. It’s a cute little spot with a duck pond that’s great for kids. And it leads to a clearing with a sculpture and nice sitting area. As you walk in further there are quite a few small trails that are hidden away and great to check out. Peaceful but highly trafficked.

Great place to hike in the Stony Brook area. Not too difficult but can be a lot of steps for some. Much flatter once you get to the top of the hill. Barely and parking by the pond. I believe you can park in a larger lot up the hill.

Considering how many people we saw on our way, the trails were really clean and well marked!

Beautiful scenery. My four year old nephew enjoyed himself. Plenty of areas where you can sit down and read a book or relax. Great area for dogs as well.

Used to be a nice quiet place, but the word got out a few years ago. Now there's litter and dog poop all over the trail.

Used to be one of my favorite places. Easy trails, wildflower fields, art installations, and a labyrinth in the woods. It's become a little bit overcrowded though. Used to see maybe 8 groups of people here when I went. Now its become a very popular spot.

I visit Avalon very frequently each year during the summer, and even a few times during the winter months each year. This trail is kept and maintained very well and the farm preserve is one of the most beautiful places in the area.

Starts off very scenic down by the lake/pond, goes up a few steps and you have a real nice place to enjoy a snack or read a book. Once you cross the road it opens up into a big field and then cross another road for another field. Finish back through the woods.
