This was a nice woodsy walk with our young kids. We went in about a mile or so before turning around. Tons of bugs but we survived .

Trail was closed partway but we ended up just connecting over to the Flume and Bluff trails and it was nice. River is beautiful!

It’s a beautiful hike right along the river for the first 1.4 miles if you want to keep it all natural—so you can just do that and spin around and come back to the car. You also can continue on up to Whiteface and do StagBrook falls like we did right above the main lodge. it’s awesome up in there. This AllTrails main map has you going through Bear Den lodge and over by the main lodge in the parking lot. It was probably set up before the Bear Den lodge was even built couple years ago. Another option is to do Bear Den mountain right off the first parking lot on right side after doing the first 1.4 miles along the river.

Easy and pleasant until you reach the ski area, then you're wandering through old machinery, piles of junk and at this present time, construction. The part of the trail that includes the ski area is the actual ski slope which is over grown, the bottom of the slopes are all gravel and have zero appealing qualities. There are way way way better trails in the area, skip this one.
