Great little trail! Very pretty walk through the woods and next to the stream. Great stop on the way through the area.

Loved the trail - lots of fun terrain between roots, rocks, and the water bed. Not too buggy. Took our 3 year old and she did great with caution and a hand to hold. Only complaint is signage, no signs pointing to trail head/record book. From the parking lot go counterclockwise for the books and base of the falls, we went clockwise and enjoyed a nice walk down the riverbed before hitting the falls.

Easy, simple and relaxing! My two dogs and I completed it in about 40 mins, that was after we took a cagillion photos and relaxed by the water a bunch!

If you follow ONLY the loop, it’s quick and relatively easy. Mid-way black spot on our route is the best view of the falls. The map route shows one straight out and back part—it’s worth exploring but is pretty steep so proceed with caution. There were not a ton of trail markers, but it was relatively easy to find your way. Otherwise, a magical walk in the woods with some spots to stop and swim close to shore.

Lots of cool things to see along the River- big rock formations, rocks to walk out on the water, higher elevations to look down. A little confusing as it seemed there were different trails going in and out, but for the most part a very easy hike.

This is a nice short hike. As you turn into the parking area from Rt. 30, the trail leading to the falls is a small access road you will pass immediately as you enter on the right, continue to the parking lot, then walk back toward the entrance and walk down the access road. There is a trail register about 100 yards down the road, and the trail markers begin there. This is a quicker route to the falls. You can take a trail at the end of the parking lot as well. It’s an easy hike, short, and plenty of nice spots to sit and eat by the water if you desire. The falls are nice. For a quick hike, with nothing technical, and an interesting feature, it’s a nice hour spent in the woods. For an ADK trail, it’s nice. Enjoy!

Poorly marked. Unsure if we actually made it yo.the falls or not. didn't realize it was a loop and from the reviews, don't think we did go far enough. Hiked back about .8 of a mile then back out. fooled the worn trail, slick in spots. hiking boots would prove to be beneficial with all the roots. will have to explore a bit more another day but after driving 2 hours to get there, disappointed. Great hike in general just had expectations that we didn't see to fruition.

Awesome short hike. Beautiful ADK woods and big waterfall, plus follows a pristine creek for half the time. Lots of places to climb and explore along the trail, and even a little sand beach. A few challenging footholds for my parents in their 70s but nothing too difficult. It was buggy, but it's like that everywhere in June.

Low traffic trail, trail not marked but you can find your way. Keep going past the falls for a small camp area nice place to sit on the rocks in the middle of the river.

This morning my son and I set out early to beat any potential crowds on this beautiful day. With the sun shining down on us and a cool 50 degrees, it was a perfect start to the day. We started our hike following the water, watching as it gradually went from a gentle flow to raging falls. We grabbed some photos along the way and discussed the importance of keeping our trails clean and good shape. All in all we had a great day. Thank you.

The falls do not disappoint! Getting to them is a little tricky, but well worth it! A few spots require fancy footwork, but we enjoyed the challenge. The trail is well marked for the first 2/3rds of the hike, then the markers drop off. We ended up doubling back for a bit to see if we had gotten off trail before we ran into a local that told us we were going the right way, just the markets fall off for a bit. There are several viewing places for the falls, including some jutting rocks for the adventurous spirits. Keep in mind there are also a few places to get down into the water for a quick drink for the dog or to cool off your feet!

Really nice hike next to a stream leading to the falls. Good for families. There are a couple of places where you can camp. If you just want to go straight to the falls, follow the reverse of what I recorded

A nice short, peaceful hike. Beautiful views to match the beautiful weather when we went. We enjoyed exploring and going out on the rocks to enjoy the views even more.

Great super short hike, always one of my favorites. The river is running extremely strong, be VERY careful by the waters edge & on the rocks. There are some trees down altering paths but just walk around to get back on the trail. Not muddy or buggy. Water is very high right now.

Always a great short hike to a scenic water fall. Trail was icy in most spots. A bit treacherous near the banks of the larger fall. Please be careful. Crampons highly recommended this time of year still. Nice solo hike during this solo distancing time.

*WINTER ADVISORY* This hike was very icy. Okay, fair enough. It’s still winter. However.. we took the trail starting at the end of the lot and made our way to the falls. The water was very high due to recent rainfall and snow melting and this situation was VERY DANGEROUS. There are no guard rails between the trail and the raging falls. We had to crawl on our hands and knees because walking we surely would have slipped to our death. The hike is “easy” but please don’t do it in the winter without at least spikes on your boots. It still was super beautiful and enjoyable. But be prepared. Best of luck & happy hiking!

Really fun, short trail. The trail is very icy right now but I went with my keens and I was fine, just be careful! It isn’t super difficult to follow just keep an eye out for yellow trail markers on the trees because some areas look like they could be a trail from past bushwhackers. The falls is beautiful and if you start by going right it’s only about 1/4 mile down the trail.

What a fun time! Perfect short hike that can be completed within around an hour or two. Brought the Mrs., my younger brother (17) brother in law (17) and his girlfriend (17) and the in-laws! (In their 50’s) as well as our 2 year old dog and we all were able to complete it no problem. The elders of the group needed to take their time at some of the more wet parts, and some of the more steep parts, but nothing impassable. The trail is a little tough to follow once you actually reach the falls, but just follow the map and head towards the main trail once you finish looking at the Falls and you will find your way back onto the trail. This short trek through the forest was well worth the divine view of the mid day sun peeking through the rocks and lighting up the the mist of the waterfall. Just wear boots, use common sense, and make sure someone knows how to use their phone as a GPS! As of 10/26/19 the trail is fully accessible and the only wet spots are the very low spots! Lots of photo opportunities as well along the water and on some cool big rocks! We saw maybe 3-5 groups of people along the way, all very courteous and pleasant folks. Be safe and happy hiking.
