Not for beginners I should say. Trail is a bit confusing. But overall the view and challenge was worth it!!! Great work out! One of my favorite hikes!

We parked at the bottom parking lot on top of the Mt. Crossed the street and walked to the right till we hit the trailhead on the road. Walked to the 1st rock formation which had an amazing view. Hung out there for a bit then walked to the next lower rock formation which didn’t really have a view. Then headed back. Nice quick hike maybe 2-3hours btw walking, stopping to look at the view & eating lunch & relaxing. I’d definitely go back.

Loved this trail. As stated in previous reviews, it has a couple of good rock scrambles and a long, steep climb, on the way back. It is an out and back trail. After each scramble and climb there is a long, fairly flat trail, that gives you more than enough time to recoup your energy. Will do this again but will push further up the AT trail before turning back. I turned this from 9.2 miles to 10.90 miles. Could easily do more!

Lovely early winter hike along ridge then took gasoline trail to top for view looking northwest over Warwick Valley. Unusually warm 55 f for January.

Hiked 5 miles in, 5 miles back-- total roundtrip 10 miles. There are two parking lots-- one right across the trailhead and one 300 ft away. Great trail. Many parts are flat and not rocky. The steep inclines are spaced out so you don't feel like youre dying while hiking. The trails and markers are very well maintained-- you can't get lost on the trail unless you really lack common sense lol. The Fitzegarald Falls is dry and there is no waterfall at this month of year. But a cool thing is that after 1.5 miles into the hike, there is a overlook vista. 0 thru-hikers met!!

We took the trail going South. This was harder than anticipated, especially for 1700 feet of elevation gain. The trail was flooded in a few spots and we had to cross a section by taking our shoes off and walking in the freezing December water at Little Dam Lake. Top of ridges was very windy. We had a lot of fun though!

We did this trail a little different then the map. We parked in a boat basin in Greenwood lake and took uber to the entrance of the applachian trail in Warwick NY. We then took the trail about 6 miles along the applachian trail that went along a ridge line. When we reach the border of NY/NJ (yes it's spray painted on a rock) we took the blue trail down to the boat basin and back to the vehicle. It was definitely fun and not terribly difficult, see my map if you want to try it.

This was a fun trail. It didn't have too many steep inclines or declines but you got a good workout. It was beautiful forested areas with a very small waterfall. One decent peak as well.

Way more rocky and rigorous than anticipated! Much more difficult than the NJ portions a bit south, but a ton of fun. Some rock scrambles and harder-to-follow trails, but if you keep your eyes open you'll be just fine.
