Went here on July 25th. All parking and all trail access completely closed. Posted signs say due to illegal dumping the area has been closed to all and is being patrolled.

Parking lot was open today. Trail was in great shape. A lot of people swimming in the rapids and ignoring the no swimming signs. There are several drownings each year here (class V rapids) so please be respectful of local SAR and stay out of the water.

Nice overall hike that isn’t too hard or too easy and never gets boring, even in the return trip. Great scenery when you’re by the river. Not crowded at all on a weekday. Some decent views from the peak of Tenmile Hill. At one point I got off trail and was unable to cross over the river. Not a very easy mistake to correct. That was my own fault however and the trail it’s actually very well marked.

Got here around 10 am and it was very quiet. Parking lot is small though so recommend getting here early. Great shade so not too hot. A lot of bugs so bring bug spray. Moderate length and low stress. I’d recommend wearing pants because of the overgrown brush.

It was a great day and a nice hike! Follow the river for the first mile or so and then the second mile is all the work! Took a little under an hour to reach the top. Pretty quiet on the back half! Also parking lot is now open.

Loved this hike- beautiful scenery along the river but I have to note that NO way this trail should be rated as easy- it is a solid moderate. I went with my kids and my elderly parents and there was some aggressive uphill sections and often the trail was narrow and rocky/rooty. It was still gorgeous we enjoyed it very much but I wish we were more prepared! Also- the parking lot is now closed due to COVID-19- we parked along Kent Rd.

Enjoyed the hike along the Housatonic River as well as the 10 mile river. Instead of going to the top of the 10 mile hill, we veered off to the vista trail and did the Housatonic Overlook and Amy’s Overlook. Very scenic and a nice day. I was worried about parking. The lot is a bit small and we snagged the last spot on our way in, by the time we came back we saw cars parked on the grass outside of the parking lot.

Completed section in February. Added this section to our hike which started on the beginning of the AT on Hoyt Road. At the time it was muddy and icy however I’m sure it is beautiful now. Would recommend for any level of a hiker. Great scenery and one major look out. Awesome views of the river towards the end at Bulls Bridge. Great, standard hike.

I’ve hiked this trail a million times and I’ll hike it a million more. It’s a pretty easy trail going along the housatonic river. It’s a great trail for beginner hikers since it’s fairly flat. It’s nice hiking spot in the warmer months so you can take a dip. I’ve seen a lot of kayakers there which is also fun to watch. If you drink all your water there’s also a water spiked at the end of the trail going towards the shelter.

Beautiful hike overlooking the river. I would rate this as easy to moderate. There are a number of other trails nearby that also have beautiful views of the river. August can be a bit buggy but great quick 4 mile hike

Very nice trail, beautiful. Moderate as listed. Very buggy. I did have bug spray but that doesn’t keep them from swarming your face, ears, nose. They weren’t too bad at the beginning but the farther I got into the forest the worse it got. The parking lot was full, it holds about 15 cars, but the trail was not crowded. The out house at the parking lot was disgusting. Poop and pea on the seat and it was full. Also garbage inside as people obviously did not pack their own trash out. The outhouse hadn’t been serviced for 2 weeks .

Great hike! I would say it’s easy-moderate. Beautiful waterfalls and river some of which you can see from the parking lot. The white trail is so well marked and the trail is very clear. Seems great for hiking dogs and older children. Only saw two people on the whole trail.

Beautiful hike, walked to the steel bridge and came back on the AT, which was a nice loop. Great views of the river on the way back.

Loved this hike...so serene hiking along the Housatonic river. The day I was there the Falls at Bulls Bridge were frozen over with ice...gorgeous one lane covered Bridge. The hike up Ten Mile Hill was pretty easy with just enough incline to hey your heart rate up.

One of my favorite CT spots. Relaxing hike with beautiful river views most of the way, and plenty of rocks to climb on and explore if you want to get close to the water. Especially stunning when the snow melts and the water is high...the rapids are incredible. And if you walk along the AT and stop at the trail shelters you'll meet some pretty awesome thru-hikers too!

If you're looking for an easy hike with beautiful views, this is it., especially after a heavy rainfall or a lot of snow. Being that this is close to home, I'm here often and never get tired of it. You can do 2 miles or more depending on how far you decide to keep exploring. Great for hiking with dogs.

Not really sure why this is rated as easy, I would consider it to be moderate. It's beautiful by the river, one of my favorite spots I've ever hiked. After you cross ten-mile river it becomes much more difficult but worth the trip to the top.
