I hiked around lake out to ridge overlook for 9.5 miles round trip, 1300 elevation gain. Easy hike and less rocky than many trails in area. Watch out for hunters in fall.

the trail on the east side is really obscured by countless fake trails, none are hard but many go through campsites.

Hiked up to the vista, not much to look at but along the way there's some nice areas and scenery. Camped at the sites on Alder lake, very weekend all around

Nice walk. Pretty Lake. Last time I was there the mansion was still standing. Good fishing for trout & bullhead. Clean & maintained.

Wife and I took advantage of nice weather to do a complete circuit around the lake starting from the right side. The bridge was washed out, but was able to navigate across thanks to some large cobbles and boards in the vicinity. After rounding the half way point, the rest of the hike was easier than the first part. Any interested in checking this out, would recommend you bring a hiking stick as certain parts of path may be muddy or unstable.

Easy hike for kids 6 and up. Nice well kept trail with bridges over the water areas.
