mountain climbs, lake, mountain laurel in bloom 61503 This loop is known as the africa loop because of its shape. From trailhead on 106, head south on the RD, red dot. This will take you immediately up Tom Jones Mt. Enjoy the view. See shelter on your left, slightly east of the trail. heading down, continue on the RD after crossing the Victory, a blue V on white blaze. head up Parker Cabin Mountain. you will come to yellow triangle trail on your left which heads immediately down Parker Cabin Mt. Follow the yellow triangles down to lake skenonto. in mid June there is mountain laurel blooming all along these trails. See Victory trail at the lake and make a left, taking it north/west to the RD. it follows a road for a little while. There are lots of wet spots on the victory trail but nothing really problematic. Come back to the RD and head back up Tom Jones mt, enjoying the laurel and boulders on the way up. Head down to your car through more patches of laurel.

Absolutely beautiful. Not easy!

Great hike with beautiful scenery and elevation for challenge. It is very easy to go off track though, so pay attention. This app is golden as it helped us get back on track. Lake Sebago has some good camping spots although I'd suggest arriving as early as possible to grab the good ones. The lake isn't that great but you can get away with taking a dip depending where you are.
