Great easy trail for a snowy December day. Views were great and with snow coming down very peaceful and quiet.

Beautiful view of the gorge. Trail exposed in full sun and would likely be a hot hot hike in the summer.

Long shot, but I ran this trail on oct 30th and about a tenth or a quarter mile in a lost a gold moon shaped earring that is an important piece of family jewelry. If anyone had a metal detector and/or finds it please call me at 586-215-1246. I drew two lines across the trail in the area it was lost but I have no idea how long they’ll stay. Thank you!

Visited this trail while vacationing through New Mexico and wanted to stop to see the bridge. Great views looking south from the bridge, good photo opportunities. Would highly recommend walking across the bridge as well for northern views. Also during our visit (1st week of Oct) there was vendors selling native American jewelry and such in the parking lot of the rest area where you park to access the trail so that was fun! Nice covered picnic areas as well.

Groovie. Easy. Scenic. Great photo opportunities. Good walk fir all ages, but keep your kids close and dogs on a leash. Take the walk out onto the bridge only if calm or breezie. Don't go out there, if it is windy! I liked being there at high-noon, because the sunshine illuminated both sides of the canyon...red rocks, with blue-green, rushing water. Breath-taking!

The trail is approximately 20 miles (out and back). There really isn't anything to see at mile 8 that you didn't see at mile 2. There isn't any shade, and the trail is really a dirt road that doesn't permit motorized vehicles.

Great trail. Early morning run was terrific. No bugs, not too hot, and amazing views. There is a rocky patch on the trail about 1/2 mile in that only lasts for a 1/4 mile. After that the trail is fantastic.

Lovely, level trail with spectacular views. Nice trail head. Very clean facilities. The total trail is 9 miles. Keep a track of your outbound distance and time so you don’t go further than you mean to. We walked about 2.5 miles each way which was perfect. No shade so pick morning or day with some cloud cover and not much wind.

Pretty straightforward hike with amazing views. Walked beside a couple bighorn sheep for half of it. Pretty cool experience.

The trail is actually a nine-mile trail that ends south at Dead Cholla. Only the first two miles hug the gorge. Views are spectacular. Do this hike early in the morning or in the afternoon with cloudcover as it is totally exposed. Trailhead is at the rest stop. People can stay here for 24 hours.

great flat hike in summer I would only do it very early in the morning. As others have mentioned, there is no shade. I do it early spring or in the fall.

This is a short but enjoyable trail. The views of the Rio Grande Gorge are spectacular as at times the canyon drops off right next to the trail all the way down to the river.I would suggest a afternoon hike as the light is spectacular.

This is an easy, flat hike along the rim of the Rio Grande Gorge starting at the back of the rest area. The TH is marked. You can hike as much or little as desired. We turned at 1.7 miles, just because we were at a pretty photo spot to make the return trip. Good for all ages. Bring water, especially if a hot day.
