This was a nice little hike. Overgrown some where it got confusing at times. But, it was easy and has good sceneries.

Nice relaxing hike, took about an hour and a half. Great for families and kids. Pretty views at the pond and open spaces and also from high up on the trail looking down the canyon. I went in October so there was some fall color and it was 72 degrees out.

Went to hike this the other day but it is closed due to mud at the eastern end of the trail. If you feel daring of course you can hike it, but it is not as well maintained as I would have expected due, I'm sure, to it being technically closed.

Compared to some of the hikes that we do, this was a walk in the park.....except for the icy ground. Good for all ages but more of a nature walk.

Great trail - good views and easy access. We took the kiddos and parts of the trails are a little narrow and exposed to steep drops, otherwise the perfect family hike.

Easy trail and the signage is good but at the end it is confusing about how to get back to the parking lot. I would do it again and it was beautiful with all the colors changing

A beautiful mosey! Very easy hiking and beautiful flora during the warmer months. We were surprised there were no mosquitoes. If you are going counter-clockwise from the TH, it can be confusing getting back to the TH/parking on the last 1/4 mile or so. The trail gets scattered into lots of social trails. It looks like lately, they have put a better effort into marking the trail better, but it still could use some help. Great for kids!

A gorgeous, easy, and for the most part shady trail that winds along both sides of a canyon. Especially early on, a bit poorly marked is my only complaint. At the farthest point, you cross an old dam. Lots of water when we were here in mid-July. Stop at the pond, sit on the bench and enjoy the bird life. Even a hawk or two within sight. Plant life includes everything from wildflowers to cactus, pine to poplar (?) and sage brush. A beautiful place on an easy walk. Go.

Nice trail but no sign stating trail was closed at the end. Made it almost all the way around the loop and had to go back. Be careful with little kids as there are some points where there are no barriers that could result in a large fall.

Beautiful and manageable trail. Went with my mom because we are only in Santa Fe for a weekend and wanted to just walk without passing an art stand or gallery, nothing wrong with those, just time for some nature. The signs about the dam were interesting. It is a loop trail but one part was closed. We started at the trailhead in the parking lot, counter clockwise around the lake. Once around on the far side we came to a trail closed no trespassing sign. We followed back to the Ball trail that took us to the road and that brought us back to the parking lot. Not sure if that closure is permanent, but some more signage would be helpful. We were not the only hikers who were confused. Otherwise beautiful spot so close to downtown.

Hiked it in the snow. It was easy and had some cool views. Signage can be a bit confusing.

It is an easy hike. I think it will be more beautiful during summer when there is more green.

This is a great beginner hike. The parking lots has plenty of spaces and the trail is well marked until the end where it is a bit confusing how to get back to the parking lot. Now that I know the landmark, I won't have a problem. The trail is lush and green and a lot of fun to explore. I didn't see a ton of wildlife, but more than most of the mountain trails without water features.
