This trail is a nice easy walk, good for dogs or biking. There are no crazy views but it was enjoyable. One thing to note is that It is very close to the highway so you could hear highway noise pretty much the whole tome.

Good and easy trail for a hike.

We hiked this on a cool, overcast Monday morning. We never came across another soul. The only noise was from the traffic off US82. This is the kind of trail I enjoyed running on when I was younger. The grade is easy and the surface well-graded. There is some exposure, so dress appropriately and carry water. There are benches on the upper section to sit on and enjoy the view, read the historical plaques, and take in the geology. The lower section has the aspens and maples, making this a great fall hike. This trail can easily be lengthened with other trails in the Trestle Recreation, creating an 8-mile loop. Aspens were about a week out from their prime, so hurry fast to enjoy the colors.

A beautiful trail with wonderful views and interesting information about the history of the train passing this section on the way to Cloudcroft. My granddaughter and I enjoyed a lot.

Wanted to find this one for awhile to cross the bridge over the highway. We headed down under the highway then back up around back to the canyon head where the car was parked. A lot of sun not much shade after the first 1.5 miles. Went in August. Ground was very hot for the dog. Black rock trail after the bridge.

It was a challenge for me as a rookie, but I enjoyed it, especially the history displays at a couple of rest areas. The local high school had their cross country runners on the upper trail level. Yeah, a bit humbling. Those kids were eating it up.

Beautiful trail. The route to the north was much prettier than the route to the south.5 stars until the pedestrian bridge and then 3 stars for the way back. Overall still worth checking out.

Bring water! I can’t tell you how many people I see that don’t bring anything. I don’t care how “fit” you think you are. Water is water.

nice trail

The trail seemed great. Had to stop way early because my doggo wasn’t feeling up to a hike today.

Great history on the trail. Following the old trains path. Easy to moderate.

Nice, exposed in areas so if it’s hot and sunny it can get warm on high side of road. You could run this trail easily. We saw a big elk.

Very nice, easy trail with well maintained path. As others have said, very close to the highway. Still many opportunities to see some wildlife.

Moderate, nice but very near the street...

Trail on the north side of the road better than the south. Be wary of the tunnel if you don't want to eat a bunch of gnats.
