My kids and I did a seven mile loop starting here with T- 5004. We took it over to T-5003 to T-5002 and back to T-5004. I liked T-5003 and T-5002 better than T-5004 (Switchback) since T-5004 just followed the road. My favorite was T-5002 (Old Cloudcraft Highway Trail) but all were really great. I would recommend the loop I took as it offered a little bit of everything.

We really liked the trail. Yes, you can hear the highway but that was not a hindrance for us.

Definitely start out counterclockwise if you are mountain biking. The last half is a gradual ascent. The beginning is a nice single track with lots of brush on both sides. After the bridge it’s a wide two lane off road type trail.

Nice trail. One of the few not overcrowded on this holiday weekend. Mostly level.

Beautiful easy trail marred by sound from highway. Shady pines. Open meadow. Some unshaded paths that can be hot but not for long. Sparsely traveled on a Friday - only met 2 bikers and 5 hikers.

Greater trestle loop - very difficult for a newer trail runner. Very rocky and a constant elevation up the mountain towards the end of the trail. A very nice hike, though, but still moderately difficult

Plenty of shade between open spaces and the trail is well maintained. Hiked with my family including a 4 year old and he was able to hike it. Was right next to road, so you could hear the traffic going by.

close to the main road, so you hear cars the whole time. Otherwise nice hike. The only one including crossing the pedestrian bridge and a tunnel in the area. fairly flat trail (since most of it was a rail track), easy to walk. sunny hike, not much shade.

Hiking

Nice trail, relatively easy. Wide in sections so you can walk side-by-side but single person path in other parts. Fairly well shaded but opens up in parts. Well maintained. Noticeable highway noise brought it down to an average rating. Like others have said, bugs flying around in the tunnel so might want to run through it quickly - makes for a funny video clip of friends being grossed out.

One of our favorite trails to hike. Started off at Bailey Canyon and did the upper loop. Can do the bottom loop and get to cross the Harkey Bridge. Total of about 8 miles

Not lots of shade for dogs. We had to turn around because the black rock on the trail was burning our pups feet. Otherwise it was perfect! Recommend going earlier in the morning if you have pups!

This trail was a very nice hike. there was some road noise from hwy 82 but definitely not a deal breaker. Plenty of shade and mountain scenery. Trail was well maintained and wide enough for side by side walking in many areas. Going to make it a point to hike again in the fall.

This trail is a nice easy walk, good for dogs or biking. There are no crazy views but it was enjoyable. One thing to note is that It is very close to the highway so you could hear highway noise pretty much the whole tome.

Hiking

We hiked this on a cool, overcast Monday morning. We never came across another soul. The only noise was from the traffic off US82. This is the kind of trail I enjoyed running on when I was younger. The grade is easy and the surface well-graded. There is some exposure, so dress appropriately and carry water. There are benches on the upper section to sit on and enjoy the view, read the historical plaques, and take in the geology. The lower section has the aspens and maples, making this a great fall hike. This trail can easily be lengthened with other trails in the Trestle Recreation, creating an 8-mile loop. Aspens were about a week out from their prime, so hurry fast to enjoy the colors.
