March 7th. Spikes and poles are required. The last part of Oso ridge is a killer because it is very steep and still packed with snow. It is "one foot forward, half foot down" but with patience, spikes and poles you can do it. The views from the south peak are rewarding and gorgeous as always. Now, heading down through embudito feels like ice skating. I would say it is impossible to head down without spikes so please make sure you carry a pair with you even if the weather down the foothills feels like summer. Nevertheless, this was an awesome hike and we (I and Bambo the dog) would highly recommend it!
