Red Rocks at Pyramid Rock is a 3 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Gallup, New Mexico that offers scenic views and is rated as difficult. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from March until October.
Pyramid Rock Trail at Red rock state park is a challenging and beautiful hike. There are fantastic views throughout, especially once you get to the top of Pyramid Rock. The geology is amazing. The trail is well marked and there are benches along the way to take a breath and enjoy the views.
There is another hike in Red Rock State Park, but I am not sure how to add a new hike in AllTrails. There is a trail that connects the Pyramid Rock trail to the Churchrock Trail. You can park at either trailhead and hike in either direction. Once you finish the trail + the hike through the parking lot back to the other trailhead, it is a total of 4.75 miles.
Nice hike. You'll meet nice native people along the way. Take a camera.
It was absolutely amazing the hike up. The views of the surrounding area were breathtaking. If you are looking for a hike with a remarkable view, this is one not to miss.
Pyramid Trail is super amazing once you get to the top. It's a perfect little hike and the view is great.
Just bring water! Because it is desert weather all the time!
This is a great trail. Well marked. Challenging enough especially if you are not used to the elevation. The hike to Pyramid Rock and back to parking area is about 4 miles.
Fantastic views wowie plus a great chance to experience a little bit of New Mexicos natural wonder and right off the highway if you're just rolling through New Mexico like we were
