Pecos Riverwalk is a 4.6 mile loop trail located near Carlsbad, New Mexico that features a river and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for walking, nature trips, and road biking. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
Be aware for goat head burrs on the trail.
Fantastic trail. Paved the whole way. Peaceful, felt safe. Enjoyed it very much
This path wants you to cross the railroad bridge. Which is very unsafe. Had to go around. Which led me down a whole different direction. The other by the river was nice though. Gotta do some homework on this one!
Very nice trail in the Carlsbad parks recreation area. Trail is paved and easy to walk/ run. I started in the parking lot by the dam, crossed the green bridge, walked up the river, crossed over the train track bridge, and back down the river trail. There are multiple playgrounds and picnic tables with trees along the trail. You can also rent kayaks or paddle boats to use on the Pecos river. There is also the city pool / water park near or you can swim in the Pecos river at the beach/ swimming area.
