Fantastic hike with fantastic views! One of the main trails everyone goes to so can be crowded.

Caught the trail at a great time (late October), being able to hike through a mix of snow and fall foliage. Next time we'll add on the Pines Trail to Osha.

Beautiful hike through the forest, especially now (October) with the Fall color! Nice views of the mountains and white sands from several lookouts. Trail is well maintained and not a difficult hike but you are at over 8000 ft elevation so the uphill portions get you breathing!

This hike has amazing views. It is not stroller friendly! If you're planning on taking your little one, bring a carrier. I loved going during this time of year because all of the trees were changing. Make sure you have your hiking boots on! This trail is drizzled with rocks.

What a breathtaking view of the foliage! The trail was well marked with a good variety of terrain. Felt longer than 2 and half miles.

Weather was perfect, some spots w/o shade but nothing unbearable. Great trail, I did 3 miles in 2 hours here. Ended up passing the trail that goes back to parking lot by mistake so that's why it was 3 instead of the usual length. Good hiking shoes are necessary.

It was a nice short hike with the most hikers we've seen so far on our trip to Cloudcroft. If the rating system had half stars, this would be closer to 3.5 than 4. This time of the year (October) makes it very pretty with the colorful leaves of aspens and maples. But otherwise, there really wasn't anything overly special about it. The majority of the hike is under a canopy of pines, maples and aspens, the first part down the side of a ridge into a small canyon and the last part along the side of a ridge overlooking the highway.

HikingGreat!

This trail is listed as kid friendly, but it really is not. Our young children had a hard time on the trail and there is definitely no room for strollers. The trail gets very narrow at points and there is a sharp drop off. Otherwise, it would have been a great trail for adults and older children (9 and up). The trail gets very rocky and steep at points, but is generally well-maintained.

It's a lovely trail. The first .7 mile has highway road noise. After that, it's wonderfully quiet. Lots of shade along the way. It's rated moderate, but I've hiked trails rated easy that were harder. The leaves were beautiful on our hike in October.
