Beautiful trail. Great for a low key hike in the morning.

Good trail. Fairly steep at the north end starting point then a 1/2 mile in its all down hill; until you turn around, then a moderate uphill.

Nice morning hike. A little bit of a steep incline in places. We weren’t used to the altitude so took a bit to acclimate. Took the mine trail on the way back saw a small cave.

I would not rate this hike moderate. The views were not a worthy return on incline investment (with miner’s trail included). The trail was shaded throughout making it a nice choice for a summer day, though.

Great trail. Definitely take miners trail back. Would highly recommend it.

Nice quiet trail..great mildly gradual incline surrounded by trees and a few wildflowers. Parking area by road watch closely for signs. Dusty and very dry but nice breeze...would recommend for a nice workout without the crowds...

Nice hike, be prepared, at some points there are 23 degrees step, while at the creek, stop, enjoy the quietness , beautiful, deers, squirrels and a lot of beautiful birds.

Great hike; take the miners trail on the way back to the starting route for beautiful vistas. It borders being strenuous at some points and isn’t well marked, so bring GPS if you take that part of the loop. Saw deer, horned toad, birds.

This is very nice trail with wonderful views, me and my granddaughter did it in January in a beautiful day, steep but easy to hike. We returned by the mining road and was not difficult to find the trail.

Good trail definitely steep and will get your heart rate up. Distance is good, round trip took us 2 hrs with multiple pauses to rest. Saw a squirrel and some birds would definitely hike this trail again!

Excellent trail. We got lost coming back from Miners Loop so if you don't like adventure, stay on the main trail.

The first part of the trail off of Hwy 532 is very steep. A trail head says its 1/4 of a mile but it's closer to 1/2 mile. . One you make it passed that, it's not bad at all. On the way back, we took the Mining Trail loop. It is not well marked or well used so I wouldn't recommend taking it unless you have some sort of GPS. I used the map in this app and it worked great.

This was a nice and shaded trail. The start is very steep but then you're up high and more leveled. On the way back, we used the loop via the Mining Trail. It was not a very used trail, it seemed. Thanks to this map, we were able to stay on the trail all the time. There was one rocky area that was a bit steep, too. Keep your eyes peeled to make sure you're on the trail. When this section meets with the main trail, it will be downhill all the way to the parking area.

Enjoyed the hike. Saw no one else while on the trail. Came back on the Old Miner Road Trail.

Went late this afternoon with an age range from 3 - 60 years. Everyone did fine! Due to a late start and a 3 year old, we did not make the whole trail - but it was not too difficult for anyone, was absolutely beautiful and everyone had a great time.

It was really pretty! Coming back we took the Miner Trail and did a loop back. It was pretty steep and not as well traveled. Fun to see something different. Pretty views of Sierra Blanca from Miners Trail too!

Great trail! Very easy! If you're a beginner then the paths might not always seem super clear. We managed 2.5 miles with a 4 and 6 year old. Took us about 2 hours, we stopped a lot.

After hearing this was a popular hike that everyone did, perhaps our expectations were too high. It was a nice ~3.5 mi. outing, but nothing to rave about. Pretty trees, fresh mountain air, nice walk. Enjoy!

My wife and I, along with our 3 dogs loved every minute of this trail! We must've taken a wrong turn somewhere as the trails are not as clearly marked as we would have liked, but we enjoyed getting lost. The views were absolutely beautiful and breathtaking. Lots of shade, even got a little bit of rain which was nice. We came across several large herds of deer which was completely entertaining to our dogs. We walked a total of 6 to 7 miles and though we were a bit tired when done, we can't wait to go back again! Highly recommended for anyone that loves the outdoors.

Great hike with several climbs but no problem with them. The kids and dogs had a great time.

The trail had nice views and was of moderate difficulty as marked. Turned and we went the way of the mine road back as on the map. The trail was not clearly marked so my son and I ended up walking down the side of the mountain through the trees to get back.

Fun easy hike, with beautiful views through the trees.

Great trail, saw an owl along the way. Very quiet and relaxing. The trail isn't very difficult to do.

Made it the whole way with two little ones. Wasn't easy but it had a beautiful stream along side the trail. Was expecting more wildlife than a single mule deer in the distant. We saw many beautiful different scenes of the landscape. We were all pretty exhausted when it was over.
Good Luck, hikers

Enjoyed a wonderful 5 mile hike with our 7 and 9 yr old. Never too steep. Would be great to mountain bike this trail also! Passed 4 other hikers and two bikers and a dog. Gorgeous views. Lovely shade in places. Newly made trails (2015 & 2016). Would love to return!

Excellent trail. I started on Ski Apache road and hiked to Chuckwagon road. On the way back I took the old mine road and it was not as well maintained but you can follow it. Saw some rusted junk on that road from the old mining days, who knows how old, pretty cool.
