Nice trail, some washed out areas but mostly easy workarounds with a bit of caution. Great views of the lake. mostly quiet, very few hikers. Lots of bird life. Nice up close views of the geologic formations crossed by the trail.

Really nice hike. We enjoyed the cactus blooms and views of the reservoir. The trail was pretty washed out in sections which made it difficult at times, but overall easy trail.

It was a fun hike to get myself going again. My son and I had a great time!

A lovely area to hike. The way Alltrails allows input makes the area a little deceptive. This segment of trail is about a mile or so and connects into other trails that total 6.4 miles. BLM website: https://www.blm.gov/visit/santa-cruz-lake-recreation-area. Note there are other non-official trails as well. If you are looking for a party lake, this isn't it. This is more for outdoor people. Typically quiet. The trails can be very rugged in spots, so be careful.
