Nice stroll through the woods. Lots of houses around the trail so it’s not entirely solitude. The kids (4&9) did really well on it with little complaint. Overall great easy little trail.

Nice little pretty well-travelled trail with only a few minor Ups and Downs. We were able to get several kids age 3-5 around the loop without too much trouble. Pretty forest setting, with a little bit of a view briefly into the valley to the south, we stopped to snack and enjoy it with the kids. A good warm-up trail to get everyone used to the altitude. We also parked down at the Lake’s main parking lot and walked along the lake trail to extend our walk a bit, though there is parking available at the trailhead.

There was no parking available only further away by the Monte Verde Lake Office but short nice walk. The area reminds me of Austria. Besides that not many complaints. Beautiful scenery. Good hike to take kids.

Small hike friendly, very accessible. We loved the lush green areas. The small loop to see the Big Tree is also worth a visit, a small stream runs right by its side and makes the place simply fairy. I would definitely stay there again, but to train to run in the forest because there is not much difference in altitude.

Today was my second time hiking this trail. It’s in good condition with the exception of a few downed trees. It’s easy to go around them. I like to park at Monte Verde Lake and walk along the trail that runs beside it to lengthen my round trip by a about mile. The trail is rated Easy, but there are a couple of short ascents along the way.

Very easy, leisurely walk/hike. Part.of the trail, as marked on this app, are on private property and it is marked no trespassing. It was still a great hike overall. My 14-5 year olds had a blast. Many downed trees that had yet to be cleared.

Great hike for beginners. Big tree a must see.

A wonderful walk. I only did the section in the national forest. Mountain homes in sight kinda detracted from the feeling of the "great outdoors" but enjoyed the solitude!
