No parking near the trail so have to walk about half mile to the trailhead if you park at the lake. Otherwise trail is pretty easy and well-marked. Very pretty when the aspen trees change colors!

Lovely fall foliage & moderate uphill climbs. We split off & went up towards FM 76. Was beautiful!

Mountain bikingGreat!

Rode Coyote then Lake trail then hit Lady Slipper. Crossed onto USFS and ended with a jaunt up to Overlook. Wicked day! One of my favorites.

WalkingGreat!Rocky

Great everyday trail if you enjoy a good walk. Not much as for views, but you’re in the forest and surrounded by nature. We’ve seen deer, chipmunks, squirrels, Stellar Jay’s, Woodpeckers and garden snakes. Close to 2.5 miles with a steady to steep incline going up the lower loop to get your heart pumping, but the reminder of the trail is fairly even. Heavily wooded about 1/4 mile in providing lots of shade. A simple trail. Has something for everyone!

Very nice easy hike in the trees. We parked by the damn and walked to the trailhead. No real parking at trailhead.

Very easy trail for the entire family. Even though there is a moderate climb, at the top, there are not overlooking views of the area below.

Great for just taking a walk. Not necessarily a "hike". The "overlook" is a flat grassy area that's surrounded by trees and barbed wire. Don't get too excited about it when you see the signs LOL

Very easy trail. Especially good for kids. Our 4 year old did it with no problem. Some houses throughout but we only saw one other family on the trail.

Nice stroll through the woods. Lots of houses around the trail so it’s not entirely solitude. The kids (4&9) did really well on it with little complaint. Overall great easy little trail.

Nice little pretty well-travelled trail with only a few minor Ups and Downs. We were able to get several kids age 3-5 around the loop without too much trouble. Pretty forest setting, with a little bit of a view briefly into the valley to the south, we stopped to snack and enjoy it with the kids. A good warm-up trail to get everyone used to the altitude. We also parked down at the Lake’s main parking lot and walked along the lake trail to extend our walk a bit, though there is parking available at the trailhead.

Today was my second time hiking this trail. It’s in good condition with the exception of a few downed trees. It’s easy to go around them. I like to park at Monte Verde Lake and walk along the trail that runs beside it to lengthen my round trip by a about mile. The trail is rated Easy, but there are a couple of short ascents along the way.

Very easy, leisurely walk/hike. Part.of the trail, as marked on this app, are on private property and it is marked no trespassing. It was still a great hike overall. My 14-5 year olds had a blast. Many downed trees that had yet to be cleared.
