I attempted this trail April 2020, was met with a locked cow gate, and was informed that the road leading to the trailhead has been closed to the public for several years now.

Quick little trail that ends in a heavily vandalized & polluted cave. Do not bring dogs or kids due to the amount of broken glass at the mouth of the cave. I’m guessing this was a relatively nice trail at one time but, like so many other places these days, people have ruined it.

When you follow the directions here on AllTrails, it will take you through a gate onto a dirt road past some mobile homes that will be on your left up as you go up the hill. Before you get to the top of the hill, you'll see some small wooden blockades on your right and room to park. This is the start of the "trailhead". Stay on path and you'll cross a small washout and when you see a small concrete base with an old water trough on your right, the cave is just around the corner on your left. Steep climb up into the cave and slick on the way down. Based on the marks it looks like some people slide on their backsides down.

Different terrain than Pyramid Rock or Church Rock. Short. Geology is interesting. Pretty shabby surroundings. Interesting history.

I do not recommend bringing dogs or young children. So much broken glass everywhere!

Nice relaxing drive out enjoying the rock formations. The hike was easy, but fun being in the desert landscape. The site was dirty and the old carvings were covered with recent dates and names. Would go back.
