Parking is a little limited and it's busy for the first half, but otherwise it's a great trail! It'd be a great place to introduce a new hiker to the trails in NM.

Quiet, shady trail with no real challenges. The frozen waterfalls are great in Dec/Jan.

Intermittent snow and ice but not bad enough for spikes if you’re careful. Beautiful views.

Great option for a quick loop trail close to home. Elevation gain was predictable and pleasant. Will do again to expirement with connecting trails. good tree cover.

HikingGreat!Rocky

Great trail, relatively moderate incline and lots of spots to rest. Great views towards the crest. Once you get to the end, recommend taking the Upper Faulty Trail north to connect to the Faulty Trail south. This adds about 1.5 miles, but is nice to see more terrain rather than out and back. Stop at the Roots Farm cafe afterwards for a nice coffee and dessert!

HikingMuddy

Very beautiful trail! Take the travertine falls trail to the caves and then climb up to the crest trail to avoid doubling back. There are great views of the lush green mountains across the valley before the falls. They were dry except for a little trickle of water when I was there. I’d love to do this trail again up to where it intersects with the others - I was worried about losing daylight. Mostly shaded and a pretty easy climb. The wilderness area on the other side of the parking lot would be a cool place for mountain biking or just exploring. There were a lot of cougar prints, so be careful!
