It was a nice trail to see the leaves. We went on a Monday so we did not meet a lot of people. Did it at a slow pace.

This trail was amazing, but there were tons and tons of people. I've never seen so many people flock to a trail before. I definitely advise getting there first thing in the morning. We got there at noon. Also please be considerate to others and keep your dogs on a leash regardless of how well behaved you believe your dogs are. Overall an amazing hike. Beautiful vibrant fall colors. Definitely a moderate difficulty rating. Be sure to find the trail at the southernmost tip of the trail loop. We missed the trail and ended up walking down the road that parallels the trail.

We went to Mountainair and hiked the Fourth of July Trail. Beautiful! Got there around 8 AM and there were very few people. When we left, around 11:30AM, traffic was nearly bumper to bumper going to the area we were leaving. Moderate to Easy hike. Get up there soon, colors will be gone shortly. Consider going during the week or early to avoid the crowds!

Went 10/10 and the colors were peaking. Came back 10/17 and they were mostly brown with a few colorful trees here and there. Always a great hike, colors or not.

The colours of the trees and leaves were AMAZING today. From the greens, yellows, oranges to the reds. The 8km circular hike is moderately easy. Tips: arrive around 8am to miss the crouds, take along enough water and the road there is not the best for low clearance cars.

The trail was well maintained and easy to follow. The colorful fall foliage was like nothing I’ve ever seen. Magical! I would like to note that the road in is 7 miles of a fairly narrow dirt road which at a few points was challenging in a car that is low to the ground, just something to be prepared for. Well worth the trip!!
