Heading north on US550 take the NM197 West at the South end of Cuba and then take the first right hand turn on Cubita Rd. Follow Cubita Rd. to the trailhead on your left approximately 1 mile. Heading South on US550 take Miera Rd. West. Take a right at Cubita Rd. heading North and the trailhead will be on your left approximately 1 mile.

4 star relative to the surrounding trails. Moderate difficulty, due to mild uphill climbs. Nice views of Cuba and mountains surrounding.

I thoroughly enjoy this trail nearly year round. There are great resting points with stone benches to enjoy the views and the view from the top of the mesa is stunning.
