Beautiful, well-marked loop trail combining the Fir Trail and Little Apache Trail. Begin at the Fir Trailhead. This is an enjoyable and pleasant walk in the middle of the forest of pine and aspen trees. There are small blue signs in the shape of a diamond on the trees along the path that make it easy to follow the route.

Great trail. Beautiful canopy on most of trail with some beautiful meadows. Saw elk tracks, wild flowers and wild strawberries. Will be a go to trail for us for future outings.

The entrance to this trail is inside a pay camping area so unless you luck out and get one of the four free parking places or are camping there it’s not very accessible.

My granddaughter Natalia (10) and I hiked the whole loop under the shade of tall pine trees with a beautiful landscape in all directions. This is definitely one of the best trails near Cloudcroft and it was very easy to follow the path with the blue signs.
