Great trail, not marked very well though. Really enjoyed the views.

We skipped right to the Whoop De Do trail. The out and back loop is a nice moderate trail with rocks, branches and mtn bike rollers (bumps). Horses also clearly use the trail so looking down at times is a must. The upper portion of the trail is not as shaded as the lower portion however the views of the valley are better. There is a bump out about a 1/3 of the way that is a great spot to look at the valley and even have a picnic lunch. I agree with the other reviews that lots of water is needed especially on a sunny day. Took my 12 yr old son, dog and I about 2 hrs 15 min to do the loop with LOTS of stops.

Good trail. Started at the Whoop de doo trail head off Via del Rey and did the loop around Ho Cho Minh trail. Took our family of 5 2 hrs 10 minutes to do the 5 mile loop. Please note: no signs. We got through the hike thanks to All Trails and the GPS. We actually encountered an older woman and her dog who had been lost for 4.5 hours in the heat. She was confused because of all the offshoots on the trail and no signage and was severely dehydrated. We got her back to where she needed to be, thankfully. My point is bring lots of water and make sure you have a map and good sense of direction. I don’t know what would have happened if we hadn’t run across her. Thanks All Trails!

First trail back after major back surgery. Feel so good to be back on the bike. Trail rate is easy, but I would definitely not rate a beginner trail. Super fun flowy. Lots of whoops and rocks. Overall excellent!

Good trail. We skipped the Deer trail part because we didn’t want to walk along the roads to get to the other two trails since the roads are very dirty and muddy and we had our dogs with us. The trail was great for snowshoeing. We started without the snowshoes but later had to use them. The majority of the trail hadn’t been traveled on in a while so we had some good areas where the snow was pretty deep. There is no parking lot for the trail where we started but it’s a dead end anyways so we just parked at the end.

Easy to moderate hiking trail. Great shade from the trees and good view of mountains. Walked about half the trail with a 4 and 5 year old no problem. If you are looking for a great view of Eagle's Nest Lake take a left, to the Ho Chin Min trail

Unable to find trailhead based on directions. It appears to be mislabeled. There is a Deerhead trail with starting point behind the Lowe’s Grocery store. (look for trailhead map) behind store). That trail is a large loop that is a part of many of the surrounding trails. Looks easy
