Lots of beautiful wildlife, scenery is gorgeous (even after the fire), and the hike was perfect for moderate hikers.

Awesome Trail! I would be mindful of taking small children, there was a good 3/4 miles with thorny bushes. There were also sections that had a lot of rocks. Overall...loved it!

Some Bear Scat...be aware!

Only got to do the first two miles of the trail due to hail and thunder but what an awesome trail and views. Sad the forest burned up there. Beautiful none the less.

Very pretty! The weather started to turn and we saw some very fresh bear tracks so we decided to cut the hike short.

We left from crest trail head #25 headed toward nogal TH, the scenery was very different than typical woods and pines, due to the little bear fire...but the area has recovered well. After mile 4 the trail was not maintain as well, large heavy rock and very thorny type brush. Gaiters, walking stick and high ankle boots a must....the trail disappears below buck mountain and no water source so take an extra 32 oz to be safe. Overall we loved it....another hiker highly recommend going from nogal to monjeau peak little more pleasant not so vertical.
