To find the trailhead follow the signs toward the Water Canyon Group Campground, then stay left through a cattle guard up an unmarked dirt road – rutted and rocky – about .6 mile. Trail is shady, wide, gravelly, and gradual on lower part; rocky and steeper up high – no surprise – but we did not do the final climb - no views before that as you are in a tight valley. Appears to be an Ideal mountain bike trail (I don't bike). No water on lower part in September, but numerous small still pools up high. As far as “for very experienced adventurers”, I’d call it easy on the lower part and moderate up high. Water Canyon road is open and drive-able to the top – bikers might consider riding up that road, crossing over and coming down Copper Canyon Trail. Recommend looking at the Forest Service maps too. https://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/cibola/recarea/?recid=64640
