Only issue was that we couldn't enjoy the hike because storms were threatening us the whole time.

Other than that, it is a great little hike. I consider it similar to Divisadero in Taos.

Loved it! Great views of Ruidoso and perfect weather. We took our two girls ( 6&12) and they really enjoyed it.

On our first day in Ruidoso we did this amazing hike. Just a few feet from the parking lot, we were by ourselves, and that was the case the entire trail. Most people seem to stay close to the road (the lower creek trail). At about a mile up, we saw this beautiful female elk. She was not afraid of humans and allowed us to take pictures and videos. Although I had downloaded this map, it did not seem correct in a few locations. Luckily the trail itself had excellent signage, which we followed. The map was frequently showing us off trail, and it was not just a bit; it was very much off. The other maps we used for other trails did not have this problem.
