We were short on time and testing out new hiking shoes so we did a modified shorter loop. Can’t wait to go back and explore more. Narrow in places and typical rocky NM trail but beautiful diverse vegetation. Lower portion runs by creek that happens to running well due to a fantastic winter. Well worth it!

Very nice hike amongst the trees. There was a lot of shade and the trails are mostly soft trails. We counted 18 wild followers on bloom. Saw deer tracks. The upper trail split is steep at first but after about 30 minutes it was level or downhill. I'd rate this more easy than moderate. I'd do it again.

First, this isn’t an easy trail. It’s also 4.5 miles if you follow this as a guide. There’s some good climbs and the river crossings and rocks make this a pretty technical hike. Lots of views and a great hike but it’s a tough one.
