Restored trestle, desert stream, riparian wildlife, 45 foot waterfall, and trestle ruins. Start at the Salado Canyon Trestle trailhead and follow the trail to the right for 1.5 miles. You will arrive at a steep stairway, continue for another mile through a maze gate and you will hear the falls. Continue on past the falls for 3.5 miles to the Grand View trailhead. You can go back the way you came or walk down the paved road to your car.

Definitely a desert landscape trail with no trees or shade, and lower altitude than Cloudcroft and the Lincoln forest, so it gets hot quick. I would do this trail in the fall or spring, but not the summer.

we started when it was 65 degrees and finished at 80 degrees, which was hot. bring lots of water. the falls were fun

We walked the trail with two dogs and a little baby. We loved it. It was rocky in some parts, but not challenging. The waterfall was a little crowded. The dogs loved the trail.

The trail was pretty fun and deserty! I liked the waterfall that was a midpoint. It should be a good hike for kids and pets just make sure to bring water.

Loved this hike! The waterfall was a nice treat in the desert. Also some cool old homesteads to explore!

This was a fun trail for a Saturday morning. We did Salado Canyon and this trail but ended it walking down the road instead of going back down the trail. Ended at 7 miles. It is sunny and has limited amounts of shade but the waterfall is beautiful!

Nice hike for early morning. A few spots are rocky but the trail is well maintained.

There are 2 entrances, FYI. This takes you to the one closest to the falls. It’s an ok enough trail that is moderately flat with a couple of places with a change in elevation but nothing difficult. It’s the dry season so while there was water in the falls, there wasn’t any elsewhere. The falls were absolutely gorgeous, but nothing else along the trail is really worth mentioning. We got started later in the morning so it was very warm on the way back and we worried about our dogs’ pads. We carried them when we could, so just be aware. This would be a good trail to go early and do some trail running.

Great hike! Leave earlier in the morning as there isn't much shade until you get to the falls.

Loved this trail. Only saw 3 small groups while there. Conditions were perfect. Little warm. Wear sunscreen as there is no shade until the falls.

New calico peak portion off of bridal falls trail with loop back on calico peak road through high rolls. Angry cows along trail.

This trail starts off with basically gravel but once you get to the stairs it’s mostly earth. Stairs were easy to get down and the hike altogether was pretty simple and easy. There was 1 couple at the falls and we saw another few hiking in as we were headed out. Definitely recommend this to everyone!

Easy 3 miles just a little past the falls. Checked out the trestle, house, and car ruins and let the dogs and kids play near the water. Easy, short weekday afternoon from the DirtyG.
