This area is an interesting area outside of El Paso, with lots of lava rocks. Hiking into the dome can be tricky if you leave the trail to go rock hopping. Once you're inside the dome, there's a primitive trail that circles the inside rim, and there are a few bits of desert vegetation but it's mostly just a flat rock field. If you like geology you'll find this interesting.
