I was looking for a snowshoe day...main trails from the lot were well travelled. white and blue less travelled. Microspikes did the trick.
1.5 miles up past the boulders and near a triple tulip tree, you can get bee/wasp stung
Throw away your dog poop. why do you people have to ruin a good trail with litter and feces
Very light climb in the beginning but basically flat most of the way. Very rocky and fun.
We did a short hike on Sourlands for the first time and it was a beautiful, little bit rocky but nice trail to hiking, took pictures and returned to the parking lot. Markings are fine, but not 100%, so next time we plan to use the AllTrails maps to check our exact location, so that we can complete the bigger loop.
Good moderate hike with some very cool rocks & boulders. Park was at capacity and required waiting prior to being allowed in. At the start of the trail it was VERY crowded but thinned out the further along it went. Very nice place though.
This is a great wooded trail with some elevation. In the beginning, it’s quite rocky which made it fun. Beautiful streams and foliage. You cannot hear cars or see houses etc, so you feel secluded in nature. There is actually a nice vista view if you pop over to the pipeline trail. We decided to turn back around and avoid the pipeline because it wasn’t wooded and too muddy. Like a telephone pole trail. There is also a cute pond at the parking lot where you could enjoy a picnic.
Great hike. Parking lot has a lot of cars, but people are very spread out on trails. Interesting scenery and hike. Fun rock scrambles if you want just to side of trails. Great for tweens and teens!
