White Cedar Swamp Trail is a 2.6 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Montague Township, New Jersey that offers the chance to see wildlife and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking and walking and is accessible year-round.
Great easy scenic walk. Mostly flat in a loop. Slight incline at end of the loop. Unlike most trails in the park the start of this one doesn’t have a clear sign but map provides instructions do get one. Lots of parking but it’s not free $10 for NJ residents $20 for everyone else on the weekends. There’s a lake front beach and some longer trails so make it’s worth your buck if hike planned with picnic. Agree there are bugs so definitely spray. Nice and quiet too.
Accidentally did not hit record until the actual loop began, but I still think the trail is less than what the app says. Really cool ecosystem and pleasant little stroll in the woods.
Loved this trail so much! Enjoyed the scenery and all the trees on this one!
Kids friendly, stroller friendly. Very easy trial. Most of the trail has fine gravel pavement and super easy to push a stroller along. There is a short board walk in the middle. My 8 year old walked it twice because he likes it so much. Expect 30-40 min with kids or stroller.
