I completed a variation of this hike which included the Laurel Pond Trail to the Pumphouse Trail and the Boulder Garden Trail. The forest is beautiful and lush, but the lack of views on the route I took results in the hike being somewhat anti-climatic. My father used to bring my brother and I fishing at Laurel Pond and Wawayanda Lake when we were young and so I was eager to explore the surrounding woods a bit.
Did the loop around the lake. Following "directions" via the app lead me to a dead end. Follow directions to the state park entrance. Highly recommend getting a map from the lifeguard stand.
A nice easy trail. Did some kayaking also.
Easy trail around the lake, approximately 7 miles. Crossed paths, in close proximity, with two different families of black bears. A bit too close and common of an encounter for comfort.
Nice trail to have a stroll on week end. Spotted black bear
great hike! little bit of everything on these trails. Lake views, interesting boulders . old pipeline , easy walking.
Nice easy walk
Ran in state park by lake/beach trails, they were very nicely maintained and had multiple surfaces and degrees of difficulty, some flat wide and dirt others steep with rocks. Varied terrain made run fun and challenging laurel pond trail and some adjacent trails. BB
Nice family place with easy trails
What a beautiful lake! Great little islands to explore. The beach is packed in the summer but you can paddle away from it. If you don't have a Canoe you can rent one at the dock. Unless you run iron man competitions don't rent the bicycle boat....
