Watchung Reservation White Trail Loop is a 2.4 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Mountainside, New Jersey that features beautiful wild flowers and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from April until September.
Quiet although some parts run along the road. There was a lot of poison ivy in some parts so be weary with dogs
Good overall but okay attention to the map because the white tail is a lot longer then you think. it branches in different directions. very rocky and muddy at times.
Nice trail, close to home. Pretty muddy in spots but van be avoided by taking any of the various trails in the park.
Nice trail, nice park. Didn't know this app drains the battery, so will use another mapping device next time.
A very nice 60 deg. autumnal Sunday afternoon hike in the local woods enjoying the changing colors of the trees.
It’s defiantly not a stroll. There are rocks and thin trails as well as some muddy patches but I overall loved this as a quick hike to get in on a busy day.
If you live in Union County this is a great place for a quick hike and to get some fresh air. Parking lot on Glenside Ave was completely filled at 2PM today.
1.6.19. A gentle stroll through the woods, not much climbing (279 feet over 3.6 miles). The White trail is well marked (white square blazes), and near Lake Surprise it becomes more of a network of interconnecting pathways. Not a lot of exciting features (the narrow lake and the Watchung Stables). A bit too much road for my liking, but a decent enough walk. Very muddy after recent rains. We took about an hour and a half but were ambling and picking our way through the mud, so normally I'd say this could be done a bit faster.
