Easy trail and beautiful walk. You want to make sure to follow the map or you can go off trail. Enjoy!

Good for a few rocky scrambles, nice Brook running throughout, the lake is fun to see, but was very crowded and poorly marked. Be sure to follow your app!

Using NyNj trail conf description to get to trailhead of History Trail was useless. Never found it. However, i thoroughly enjoyed hiking throughout on the blue, pink, white, & orange trails, finding several history markers & info anyway, ending up at The Feltville abandoned 1800 village of several cool buildings across the stream, wear boots cause the creek has no built bridges but logs and rocks to get across, and several muddy parts on all trails, very well worth it to explore the village, including a small 1776 cemetery there.

nice path that goes around a lake halfway, the other half leads into the woods. there’s a few patches of hills otherwise pretty flat.

Today, my quaranteam member and I went from the red trail to the white trail to the red trail to the (very briefly) white/green/black trail for a total of 8.78 miles. This was generally an easy hike, except for the many areas of sucking mud and the occasional up/downhill rock scramble. Trails are well marked. It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed seeing wildlife and two waterfalls, walking alongside the river and exploring the geology of some palisades.

Beautifully maintained trails with plenty of room to social distance. A nice hike!

The fact that you can do a short hike on these nature trails in the middle of NJ is pretty amazing, and truly feel away from the highway bustle. With that said this trail does have a ton of intersections and trail options... like too many, it’s hard to keep track. There are some muddy patches and bugs, so just be aware. Really wonderful this space has been preserved for outdoor recreationists and locals. Yes there is a horse farm nearby but I didn’t think the manure was much of an issue.

Maybe we shouldn't have hiked it when it was raining, but a majority of the Purple Trail was underwater. Not like a little creek, but a flowing river lined on either side with thorn bushes. We were soaked to the bone and freezing and again that might've been our own fault for picking the wrong day to hike it, but the trail maintenance was just not there.

Love this trail. It has awesome technical climbs and dry river crossing , however found out by other hikers bikes are not permitted in Watchung, very big shame given the diversity and plenty of options for multi-use activity, maybe that will change one day. Some spots are very rocky. Be careful on rainy days.

The white trail was marked but had too many intersections and side trails that loops back to the main white blaze trail. a large portion of trail was built as horse bridle path, thus a lot of manure landmines all over. The smell is all around during midday hours. The artificial man made reservoir looked more like a swamp with massive brown algae growth. My son informed me that the water lacks oxygen and thus the brown murky color. Make sure you bring bug spray to ward off the mosquitoes and black flies. The trail was leveled and was easy to hike on. Very heavy tree canopy to shade from the blazing sun. All in all, the trail was sufficiently wide for my 2 sons and me to walk abreast and just shoot the breeze and enjoy each other' company.
