Tip: if you want to hike Ramapo and the other lots are full, try parking here. It's a community park so there's a ton of spaces and lighter traffic at the onset. 287 makes a lot of noise, especially at first, but once you crossover to the orange trail, it starts to get better. Lots of elevation changes which was nice but so much flooding so be careful if you try this hike after some rain.
Nice short hike. Didn’t do the entire route. A few rocky areas, but relatively easy climb. Bad part of it is all the noise from route 287.
Beautiful day. This trail was more crowded than I have observed in the past. Parking was a nightmare due to other activities at the park. The AllTrails app was also acting up today.
Perfect trail on this warmer weather, the green tunnel is full life, saw tons of butterflies and frogs. Flowers everywhere, the trails are not too though with the climbs, but it’s hot, you will be challenged, bring plenty of water. The only embarrassing point, some people left trash in fire places: beer cans, water bottles, cigarette boxes...in what should be the main scenic view, it’s a real disappointment to know that even though they know enough to come an enjoy the trails, but not to clean after themselves >:(
Solid trail. Relatively flat. Nice walk to Lake Vreeland. Saw 2 people on entire walk.
PLEASE HELP! We lost our dog DOBBY CRILLY on the trail- my name is Kelly Crilly- phone number is 8623774172. He was near the bottom of Cannonball road. He is an 8 month old coonhound beagle mix- brown with a white belly and white paws. He has a green harness and green collar. He is extremely friendly and loves people, so if found please call. He ran off around 6:30PM
This is a difficult loop trail on two blazed and one un-blazed trail. Rocky, muddy and many elevations changes. Scenery is good with a beautiful view of the Wanaque Reservoir at the top. Would do this hike again.
