Great walk on a crispy spring day. Required a bit of exploring to find a link to the D&R Towpath after crossing the swinging bridge, but we eventually found one!

This is a nice walk or in our case run in the woods. Beautifully maintained, interesting historical signs, and very peaceful. We ran in the evening and morning and the mud had hardened. We wish we lived closer to enjoy this reserve more.

Well, interesting trail if you’re a history buff. I specifically set out to find swing bridge but after an 8 mile walk I gave up. Not sure where we made wrong turn?? Never saw anything that mentioned swing bridge either. Nevertheless, a nice day for a walk. But, I much prefer a tough hike with scrambles, views n ruins.

Super muddy after rain and impassable along the river. We didn’t get to see the swinging bridge.

Hiking

Trails not well marked. Easy hike with mostly flat trails. Lots of fallen leaves on paths right now and there were a lot of muddy areas despite no rain in the past few days. Not much to see other than the battlefield and the suspension bridge. Trails were not crowded and everyone I crossed paths with social distanced and/or were wearing masks.
