Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge

The Great Swamp Blue, Yellow and Ivory Trails is a 2.6 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near New Vernon, New Jersey that offers scenic views and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and birding and is best used from April until September.

Completely washed out and muddy - impassable the first 0.1 miles and couldn’t continue.

I know it rained yesterday but there many areas completely underwater. had to Bush wack some to get back to blue from east end of yellow that was closed by flooding.

Very muddy first .2 miles. After that drys up alot with a few muddy spots (not as bad as beginning of trail. Trails OK. Suggestion were boots if you going to hike this.

We went on a dry day. There were a few muddy parts. Well marked and not many other hikers.

An OK trail; not many photo opportunities. Some parts of the trail are clearly marked, while other parts are not. Also, some parts of the trail are overgrown, requiring long pants. Trekking poles are also a necessity given some muddy patches here and there.
