Great place for the sunrise or sunset. If you want really nice views and a slightly challenging hike take tower trail. It’s about halfway up the mountain on the right hand side. Highly recommend this trail for sunrises cause you can climb up the steps of the fire tower ( you can’t go into the actual tower you can only be on the stairs) and the view is phenomenal. There’s no trees obstructing the views whereas up at the pavilion you can’t see the sunrise as easily due to all the trees. The sunset you can see Perfectly from the pavilion which is a little disappointing considering it’s called sunrise mountain so you’d figure the sunrise would be just as unobstructed as the sunset is. If you want an even more challenging hike take the Appalachian trail from the Culver’s gap parking lot it runs parallel to the road. There’s lots of other little trails that branch off the road too that I recommend checking out

This is a paved road good for biking. If you are looking for a hike take the AT which runs parallel to the road and has some really nice views. Park at Culvers Gap lot.

I haven't hiked this trail, but the road makes a great scenic drive, from woodlands, swamps, hills and streams, to some really nice vistas - especially in the fall.
