Nice little trail that takes you to a nice section of beach with a view of the lighthouse. The path is a loop that allows you to view a pretty marsh area with numerous birds.

One of my favorite spots in Cape May. It’s a raised path, so it’s great for families with young kids as well as solitary hikers like me. The trail leads in several directions toward the marshes and winds briefly through a gorgeous wooded area. When you find the water, you’re likely to see geese, herons, ducks, and a few large swans. It’s a highly recommended easy walk.

Walking

Walked on May 17, 2020. Highly recommend! Lots of outstanding birdlife here. Wide trails make for good social distancing. Bring binoculars! Killdeer, glossy ibis, swan babies, muskrat. Lots of stuff going on. Plus, though it's not indicated on the All Trails map, you can connect to this property via Cape May Point State Park's Connector Trail. Check maps from both parks for more detail.

Very good short trail. Easy walk. Good diversity of habitats. There is a section of beach that can be followed or skipped. There is an observation tower and a blind.

There's another trail not apparent on this map that parallels Sunset BLVD and can return you to the parking lot, making this a loop hike. Nice bird watching.
