Well-marked, good views. Extremely rocky most of the way, with a steep scramble early on. Wore hiking boots and still expecting very sore feet tomorrow. Would not do this if the trail has gotten rain recently, as it’s likely to be too slippery for a casual hiker.

It's a beautiful trail, well market, moderate trail, might be a little bit challenging for people who are not in a good shape. Loved it.

great hike, taken from my campsite to the monument and back, clocked 6.5 miles. Would recommend hiking boots over runners. Real rocky. A little scrambly for just a moment.

Your GPS might tell you to turn right into the Sawmill Lake campsites...don’t, unless you’re camping there as there’s no public parking. Park at the bottom of the lake and walk half a mile to the trail head.

Amazing trail with some beautiful forest and some spectacular views! The trail is very rocky most of the way, would be difficult without some supportive hiking boots without firm soles. The trail is very well maintained. The initial ascent on the Blue Dot trail is steep and then gets VERY steep towards the top, some rock scrambling required on a very narrow trail. Park at the lake boat launch area (space for about a dozen cars) outside of the campsites, and cross the small footbridge to a trail that goes around the lake -- the trail head is about a half-mile counter-clockwise around the lake along the campsite road.

Parking is on the other side of the lake, don’t go into the campgrounds area. Park then walk to the trail head (will add a bit of extra distance). Very steep, fun climb with great views. Make sure you wear proper footwear- rocky and slippery if wet.

Great hike. Parking area is really 3/4 of a mile around the lake from the start of the trail. All said and done, it was closer to 7 miles.
