Round Valley Blue Trail and Pine Trail Loop is a 2.1 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Clinton Township, New Jersey that features a lake and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from March until October. Dogs are also able to use this trail.
Nice loop with fall colors. A bit of littering though. I wish people were more respectful.
Nice area around the shoreline which made for a great cooling breeze. To enter the area you need to pay $5, at least when we went we were charged. Plenty of parking spots. The blue trail is at the lower lot while the white and green are at the top lots. It was a straightforward walk with some increases/decreases in elevation. The kids enjoyed themselves. Took us about 1.5 hours to do the two mile walk of the blue trail to the green trail. If you want an easier elevation change I would suggest starting on the green and then going over to blue. I found the hardest hill to be on the blue trail climbing up over some rocky areas. Overall the trail was pretty smooth and I thought well maintained. The markers are on a mix of rocks in the middle of the path and on the trees/posts.
cute. good for kids :) we enjoyed eating the wild blackberries off of the bushes.
Loved this trail! Saw a bunch of wildlife and gorgeous views. Will definitely come back and do this hike again, and longer ones.
I love Round Valley. It’s one of the most beautiful places in the state. This trail shows off some of the best views of the reservoir and the rock beaches. Tail is well maintained and usually pretty quiet, but has been subject to a large influx of people since social distancing has been enacted. Highly recommend!
