Great for the area (And Great on its own right)

The hiking isn't the BEST but there is a pretty sweet view you can get at the highest altitude looking at NYC. For the area, its decent.

You can hear the cars passing by at certain sections of the park. But overall it was a good experience!

Nice, simple trail. Trail is well marked. Nice view of the NYC skyline on a clear day. Bring a quarter for the observatory tower viewer. We went around 11am in October and there was Moderate traffic.

The people here are very rude. Especially the one guy who works in the observation place. It’s also very strange that people sit in their cars and for hours there with out there being a view or something. At least get out of your cars and sit on one of the many benches they have.

Easy to get lost (both driving and hiking) but the trail is pretty easy. Mostly flat. Took me 1.5 hours to hike the loop. Definitely recommended for beginner hikers.

Were a few steep hills. Otherwise fairly flat. Beautiful views of NYC skyline and Montclair State University.

Having grown up in Woodland Park, I have spent much time in these woods. Great park for photographing wildlife, I have seen birds, turkey, turtles, snakes, rabbit, skunk, chipmunks and deer. This park is so overloaded with deer that people have to feed them during the winter or they will starve.
As for hiking, I suppose this trail would be "moderate" for the non-hiker. It's great for snowshoeing off-trail during the winter when all the ticks are dead.

Once you get to the top you can see all of Manhattan and Eastern NJ.

It was fun. I've been hiking before but this was nice too. Took my friend there because it was her first time hiking. Since it was an easy trail, she enjoyed it very much. Would donut again when I need a break from the city because it's so close to home.

very family friendly. very dog friendly as well. trails are easy to follow. there is slight inclines and declines and areas where you could be in the woods completely or on a trail/path. love that there is variety of options. not difficult to complete, you have to make it challenging by adding more distance, completing the trails quicker or adding more in the inclined area. been there with family a lot of times and never really crowded.

Nice trails and not as crowded as neighboring Garrett Mt trails. Yellow trails gives up moderate up and down the hills. Trails are clearly marked but Non reflective blazes so avoid hiking after sunset without good headlamp.

Good hike! This trail is not heavily used and has some moderate inclines and declines. I will definitely do this trail again.
