Easy trail over varied terrain, waterfalls, stone ruins. Short bushwack to views Catch orange blazed Schuber Trail in the SW corner of parking lot. It bears left just after crossing the river and follows it, then climbs past some ruins and a set of waterfalls to the right (most impressive in spring or after heavy rains). Continue on the Schuber as it turns south and passes below Rocky Mtn. You can bushwack to some excellent views at the top if desired. Continue to Bear Swamp Rd., where the Schuber trail turns right and you turn left (east) onto the road. You'll pass some falls in the woods on your right, then soon make a left onto the Yellow/Silver Tail, where you'll pass another set of interesing ruins. Continue on the Yellow/Silver past an optional bushwack to an nice view atop Matty Price Hill. Eventually the Yellow/Silver meets the Schuber. You can then take the trail marked by silver disks back to the parking area.
Rocky but a good hike.
This is a fun and easy trail to take. There is the spot to go to in the area. It's dog friendly and with a licenses you can fish here too. It's a great train for beginners. I recommend this trail to everybody.
This is a nice family hike that we enjoy often. Hike is rather peaceful after you pass the second upper lake. If you have a dog, be advised that many forego leashes with their pets which can lead to some issues.
I went by myself and it took a little over 2 hours including a few brief stops for pictures or rest. There is a trail on the left after coming over the small bridge from the parking lot. The orange trailblazers take you close enough to the brook but you could just walk along it instead. Part of an old stone house still stands. Pretty cool but some folks left their garbage there. Keep going uphill and you get to the reservoir. Nice place to rest. Lots of people let their dogs play in the water up there. I kept going on the Orange trail and then followed the blue. That part was more of a rocky terrain. Rested up at the lookout for a few minutes. Nice view. Headed back down the blue and then ended up back on the main path. That passes a waterfall but you have to climb down to it. Not a bad hike down but there were a lot of kids there so I went back up after getting halfway down. Kept going down the path and passed by the lake. Lots of folks out in boats. Definitely going back for the boats after the next hike. The path takes you right back to the parking lot. Overall great hike.
